North York Condominium: Full Gut Renovation and Smart Home Conversion
A full gut renovation that transformed this space into a sleek, two-story unit. Two features make this home stand out.
A Fully Integrated Smart Home
This is a fully integrated smart home, connected and controlled entirely through Alexa voice recognition. Lights, music, curtains, blinds, and appliances all respond to a simple spoken prompt.
Ask "Alexa, could you turn on the master bedroom lights?" and it happens like magic.
With no visible switches anywhere, the home keeps a clean, uncluttered look throughout.
A Floating Staircase in Place of the Spiral
The original spiral staircase was redone for two reasons: to make the place look more spacious, and to modernize the overall look of the home. A floating staircase is the more current choice.
We removed the spiral staircase and replaced it with an open-concept monorail staircase inspired by a fireman's design.
Finished with under-glow lighting and glass railings, it connects the two floors as a true architectural centrepiece.
